MARTIN WÜTHRICH

BÄCKEREI WÜTHRICH, GRINDELWALD

Martin Wüthrich runs the historical Wüthrich Bakery directly across the street from Fiescherblick – now already in its fourth generation. The building has belonged to the family for more than a hundred years, and to this day the bakery continues to bake with the same close connection to village life.

Although the original shop itself has since closed, the bakery lives on: since 2025, our Kringle. has reopened in the former bakery store – a collaboration between the Michel and Wüthrich families. This means that the bread produced by Martin Wüthrich is still being sold to customers and remains part of our neighbourhood life behind the church.

Every morning, Martin delivers fresh bread for our breakfast – the distance could hardly be shorter, as it is only a few steps from his oven to our table. Our breakfast buffet includes a variety of breads from his bakery, including Gustissimo, Landbrot, Balance, Chia, and on Sundays, the traditional Swiss braided bread known as “Zopf.”

In his free time, Martin experiments with laser engraving and carves out the room numbers in the stone key tags for the room keys in our house.

And if you would like to take a loaf of Martin Wüthrich’s bread home with you, you can find it just across the street at the Kringle.
