MARCO MÜNCH
EIGERBEAN, GRINDELWALD
Since December 2022, Marco Münch has been roasting his coffee right in the heart of Grindelwald, just 220 metres down the road from the Fiescherblick. What he produces in his small roastery ends up directly in our cups — without any detours.
We source two different roasts from Marco: a blend of 50% Robusta and 50% Arabica from Brazil and India, as well as a single-origin 100% Arabica from Kenya. The beans come from small, sustainably run plantations that Marco selects with great care.
To us, Marco is far more than a supplier — he is our coffee expert. Whenever we have questions about roasting, preparation, or quality, he is our first point of contact. To ensure that his coffee tastes exactly as it should when served here, Marco regularly visits us in person, fine-tunes our coffee machines, and conducts several training sessions with our team every year. That way, the very best from his roastery ends up perfectly prepared in your cup.
Originally from Germany, Marco has become a valued part of village life in Grindelwald and an important driver of innovation in the valley. Together with Eigermilch Grindelwald, for example, he developed his own coffee-cheese: the “Kaffeemutschli” — an absolute insider tip, available at Eigerness “Der Laden” in the Eiger+.
Anyone wishing to enjoy Marco’s coffee directly at the source will find his small café at the end of the Pfarrstutz. And over at the Kringle just across the street, we also rely on his beans.
